David De Spong

CEO & Founder

 

David founded Shared Performance in 2007 driven by his passion for empowering people and organizations to perform to their potential. Building on years of study and analysis, David identified best practices that enable increased performance. Shared Performance helps organizations implement these best practices through training, tools and support.

Since founding Shared Performance, David has worked closely with organizations both large and small to implement the performance-based methodology of Enterprise Outcome Management. He has developed products and services to leverage best practices which accelerate and sustain the adoption of Enterprise Outcome Management throughout an organization.

Prior to founding Shared Performance, David’s clear vision, strategic orientation and leadership skills led to a rapid escalation of responsibilities with Computer Associates, Terralink New Zealand Limited, and Land Information New Zealand. In his various roles, David has worked with clients from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies across private, government and not-for-profit sectors in locations around the world.

In addition to his skills as a consultant and advisor, David brings a wealth of business-related experience in strategy, sales, marketing, finance, legal, research and development, services, human resources and partner management. He has worked effectively with all levels within an organization, from individual contributors to members of the board of directors. In every capacity, David has maintained his focus on identifying and developing performance practices that dramatically improve the ability to drive results.

In addition to Shared Performance, David founded a not-for-profit membership association in 2010 that advocates and advances the discipline of outcome management.

 

Mitchell Lawrie

Vice President, Enterprise Outcome Management Practice

 

Mitch joined Shared Performance in June 2012 with more than two decades of experience driving operational excellence and business process improvement. As a former customer and user of Shared Performance, Mitch has first-hand experience in the successful deployment of Enterprise Outcome Management across a geographically dispersed corporation. In his current position as VP of Enterprise Outcome Management for Shared Performance, his group ensures the ease of adoption and financial success of every customer.

Mitch’s performance-based approach leverages his practical experience in many fields including Lean, Change Management, Performance Metrics Management, Business Innovation, Process Re-Design, and Continuous Improvement. His methods have been utilized internationally by companies that include Avnet, Intel, Shell, APL Logistics, Alltel, BHP Billiton, AP Moller-Maersk, Varian and many others.

Prior to joining Shared Performance, Mitch’s roles include Global VP of Operational Excellence for Avnet, Inc. ($26B annual revenues), Business Process Leader and Senior Executive for Shamrock Foods, Senior Partner for Six Sigma Qualtec and other senior management positions where his responsibilities included the oversight of functions including production, industrial engineering, purchasing, business development, IS and venture capital investments.

Mitch earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic State University and a Master’s degree in Venture Management and Finance from the University of Southern California.

 

James Colyer

James has been advising Shared Performance in various financial, capital formation and strategic capacities since 2011. As a professional investor for over 13 years, James is actively involved in creating value in growing, entrepreneurial companies.

James is currently a Partner at True North Companies, a Scottsdale-based private equity firm. True North focuses on investing in closely-held businesses in niche industries within the lower middle market. Prior to his tenure at True North, James was a founding partner of Canyon River Capital Partners, a lower middle market private equity firm.

Previously, James was an investment professional at Huntsman Gay Global Capital, a $1.1B private equity fund. As an original member of Huntsman Gay Global Capital, he was responsible for executing all aspects of investment activities including deal sourcing, investment screening, due diligence, structuring and legal negotiations. Prior to Huntsman Gay, James was an investment professional at Sorenson Capital and an investment banker for Lehman Brothers. James’s sell-side experience includes 12 mergers and acquisitions in addition to corporate finance transactions totaling nearly $2B.

James earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas.

 

Charles Davis

Charles joined the Shared Performance Advisory Board in 2011. He has over 14 years of experience as a private debt and equity investor and investment banking professional. As Partner of New York-based private equity firm Canyon River Capital Partners, Charles is focused on making investments in closely held, small businesses. He currently serves on the board of several businesses providing significant strategic, financial and operational guidance.

Prior to his tenure at Canyon River Capital Partners, Charles was an investment professional at Allied Capital, a $5B private debt and equity investment manager. He was responsible for executing all aspects of investment activities, including serving on the board of directors of several portfolio companies in the consumer, business services and manufacturing industries. Prior to joining Allied Capital, Charles was an investment banking professional at Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch where he worked in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and research.

Charles is a graduate of the University of Arkansas, where he served as President of the student body.

 

Cathy Eckstein

Cathy has been advising Shared Performance regarding marketing and strategic planning since 2010. As the founder and CEO of Cornerstone CMO, Cathy has a passion for helping organizations develop and implement business strategies to drive growth, enhance team performance and improve results.

Cathy brings over twenty-five years of strategic planning and marketing experience with organizations ranging from startups to global Fortune 500 companies across a variety of industries, including technology, energy, consumer goods/services, retailing and not-for-profits.

Her prior roles include Chief Marketing Officer of Insight Enterprises, a $5B global company providing technology solutions to businesses and public sector organizations; Senior Vice President, Marketing at Ingram Micro, a $30B distributor of technology equipment and solutions; and senior marketing positions at the Kellogg Company and the Clorox Company.

Cathy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from Purdue University and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from University of Chicago. She is a member of the board of directors for the John C Lincoln Health Foundation, Athena PowerLink, and the Arouet Foundation, as well as VP of Finance and Operations for Shepherd of the Desert Church.

 

Michael Greer

Mike has been advising Shared Performance on financial, accounting and tax strategies since 2011. He assists the company with a wide range of accounting issues that include income taxes, accounting methods review, and company structuring.

Mike is a tax partner and leads the corporate tax group for the Phoenix office of McGladrey LLP. He brings 19 years of experience in public accounting, serving clients in a variety of industries with emphasis in manufacturing and wholesale distribution, high-tech, and construction. Mike leads the McGladrey Private Equity Group’s service line for the tax function of the Phoenix office. Many of his clients are portfolio companies of private equity and venture capital groups.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona State University and an MBA in Taxation from Xavier University. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Arizona, Ohio and Kentucky. He is involved in many professional and community organizations including American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants – Tax Legislation Committee, Arizona State University School of Accountancy Professional Advisory Board, Valley Partnership and UMOM New Day Centers Board of Directors.

Rick has served as an outsourced Chief Revenue Officer for Shared Performance since 2010. In this role, Rick is responsible for a focused revenue strategy and the alignment of company resources to ensure Shared Performance’s financial success.

Rick is the CEO and Co-Founder of The Revenue Game, a firm dedicated to fundamentally changing the way businesses generate revenue through the application of the science of “Revenue Generation”. The Revenue Game was founded in 1989 to support some of the world’s largest companies (Johnson & Johnson, E&Y, Sun Microsystems, AT&T, SAIC, DEC, StorageTek, and NetApp) and their ability to launch new products, services and divisions. This early success transitioned into the Small Medium Enterprise market to help organizations of every size grow through predictable growth and profitable revenue.

Early in his career, Rick put his sales experience and multiple advanced degrees to work by starting a software company. After 10 years in the software business, Rick moved on to positions in sales, marketing and senior management with private and public companies that included McDonnell Douglas, Ameritech, Compuware and ASI before becoming the President of a SAS startup that grew to employ 150 people in just 18 months.

Rick has kept his academic experiences fresh over the last 25 years by being both a full-time and part-time faculty member at four colleges and universities. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Education, and Masters of the Science of Business from Western Michigan University.

Rick has spoken internationally to well over 10,000 CEO’s and business leaders about Chief Revenue Officer Thinking at the Conference Board, and other professional organizations. Vistage/TEC, an executive coaching and peer advisory group, recognized the value of his presentations when TEC Canada named him US Speaker of the Year in 2008.

 

Brian Moll, J.D.

Brian has represented Shared Performance providing advice on legal and capital matters since the Company’s inception.

Brian is a shareholder in the Phoenix office of Polsinelli Shughart PC, a national law firm. He practices in the areas of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial contracts and has extensive experience in assisting businesses in all stages of their operations, from start-up through maturation. He has represented both public and private companies with respect to mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance matters and general business law issues. Brian has also represented private equity and venture capital firms with respect to investments, acquisitions and sales of portfolio companies. He has also assisted companies with respect to capital raising through private placements and other exempt securities offerings.

Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the Ohio State University and his Juris Doctor degree from the Ohio State University College of Law. Brian is a member of the Arizona State Bar, the Maricopa County Bar Association, the Hon Kachina Council, the Fiesta Bowl Committee, and Arizona Business Leadership. Brian is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Corporate Growth and ACG Arizona.
